Lion PMJF Dr. Neena Dutta was brought up in Mumbai. She did her schooling and graduation in Science stream from Mumbai’s Sophia College and pursued and completed her Master’s Degree and B.Ed from Nagaland. She is also a Montessori-trained Teacher from Kolkata ASI and opened the 1st Montessori school in Nagaland in 1990.

She was married to Late Lion P.K. Dutta who was also the District Governor of the entire North East for 2008-2009. They are blessed with two sons namely Mr. Proneet Dutta and Mr. Pratik Dutta, one daughter Miss Prateeksha Dutta and a grandson Mr. Prakreet Dutta.

She is also an active social worker who extends a helping hand to lots of organisations. She launched AAHAR on 6th September 2020 under Late S.K. Dutta & Late P.K. Dutta foundation by feeding 150 destitutes, homeless and needy people every Sunday till date.

PMJF Lion Dr. Neena Dutta is also the recipient of many prestigious awards like, 1) Byatikram Women of the Year Award 2020 for spreading the light of education by Times of India. 2)Women Empowerment Award 2021 from Bharat Vikash Parishad. 3) North East Academic Excellence Award 2020-2021. 4) She was honoured with a honorarary causa by University of Central America for promoting education. 5) She was administered as one of the Patron of the Red Cross Society. 6) She was also appointed as the 1st Women Vice President of the Kalibari Executive Committee. She is an FDI Graduate in the year 2022-23 (1st Lady & only 2nd Graduate) in the District.

As a lion she was the 1st Lady to be an Active Region Chairperson in the undivided Dist., District Chairperson Peace Poster (twice). She was elected thrice as the Editor of Eastern Lion; she was also the 1st Lady Cabinet Secretary. She was also elected as D Women Membership & Participation, GST Coordinator Cluster-1, DC International Relation, DC Lions Quest (twice), GMT District Coordinator-1 and VDG-1.

She formed the world’s largest Alpha Leo Club with 1033 Leo members from St. Mary’s Hr. Sec. School in the year 2018-2019. She opened 5 new Lions Clubs chartered in the year- 2019, 2022, 2023, and two in 2025.

She also received 5 Presidential Awards; Women Achiever Award 2018-2019; Hero Medal 2019-20 for her outstanding support to the District; Lions Quest Gold Award 2021-22; Lions Quest Champion Award 2022-23; District Women Achiever Award 2022-23. She is also a recipient of Leadership Award from the International President Dr. Patti Hill for outstanding service to Lions International and Mission 1.5.

She is the Principal, Founder & Proprietor of St. Mary’s Hr. Sec. School (Arts/Commerce/Science) which is one of the best school in Dimapur, Nagaland.

She has received awards for every post she held, she achieved laurels both in life and in profession.
