Lion Prof. N. Romi Singh is a distinguished medical professional, respected academician, researcher, and dedicated Lion leader whose life exemplifies excellence, integrity, and humanitarian service. Raised in a family that strongly valued education and social responsibility, he has devoted his career to improving lives through healthcare, teaching, research, and community service.

His Lionistic journey began in 2015 when he joined the Lions Club of Imphal Valley as a Charter Member and 3rd Vice President. Since then, he has served in several key leadership roles, including Club President (2018), District Chairperson (Diabetes), Zone Chairperson, Region Chairperson, District LCIF Coordinator, and District GMT Coordinator. His commitment to membership growth, leadership development, and humanitarian service has significantly strengthened Lionism within the district. Notably, he successfully sponsored the extension of two new clubs and actively promoted LCIF initiatives.

In recognition of his leadership and dedication, Lion Prof. Singh was unanimously elected as the Second Vice District Governor of District 322D at the 47th District Conference held in Nagaon in February 2026. He has actively participated in Lion events at all levels, including two ISAME Forums, Multiple District Conferences, and the 103rd Lions Clubs International Convention (Virtual, 2021).

A strong advocate of Mission 1.5 and leadership development, he is an RLLI Graduate, the first RLLI Post Graduate in the district to successfully complete the required assignments, a Certified Guiding Lion, and a trained YLLI Faculty. He also served as YLLI 2.0 District Coordinator for the Manipur Region, contributing significantly to the development of future Lion leaders.

His outstanding service has earned him numerous recognitions, including the International President’s Medal, four International President’s Appreciation Certificates, the LCIF Chairperson’s Medal, LCIF Presidential Award for Goal Achievement, LCIF Appreciation Medal, District Hero Medal, and several District Governor’s Appreciation Medals. He has also received the Builder Key, Senior Builder Key, Membership Advancement Key, and Centennial Lion Awards.

Professionally, Lion Prof. Singh holds an MBBS degree from RIMS, Imphal, and a Diplomate of National Board in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation from Safdarjung Hospital, New Delhi. He is currently a Professor in the Department of PMR at RIMS Hospital and serves as a postgraduate teacher, PhD guide, examiner, and UPSC expert panel member. With over 40 peer-reviewed publications, he has made significant contributions to medical research and public health policy, including participation in landmark studies published in The Lancet.

Married to Smt. Momonbi Devi (Retired HCP), he is blessed with a loving family. With a decade of dedicated service, Lion Prof. N. Romi Singh continues to inspire through purposeful leadership, teamwork, and an unwavering commitment to humanitarian service.
